ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented SCI Security Specialist I to join our team in El Segundo.
The SCI Security Specialist’s primary function is to serve as a senior security specialist under supervision of the local Special Security Office (SSO). In accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Director of National Intelligence (DNI), and Air Force directives, regulations, and instructions, this role implements local policies and procedures to ensure effective management of military, civilian, and contractor personnel involved in SCI and collateral program functions, including physical, personnel, information, and industrial security. The position provides day-to-day support for Collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Formulating plans, policies, procedures, and documentation required for SCI protection functions, in accordance with DoD 5105.21 Volumes 1-3, ICD 704 / 5, AFMAN 14-304, AFI 16-1404 / 06, and AFI 31-501.
Maintaining and updating the SCI Billet Structure (SCIBS) for the installation and geographically separated Operating Locations. Processing requests for changes, analyzing requests for proper need-to-know justifications, and preparing related correspondence. Responding to information requests for adjudications.
Maintaining and updating Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) records for over 1,000 SCI indoctrinated personnel.
Ensuring all personnel meet and maintain appropriate security clearance requirements per ICD 704 and AFI-31-501.
Providing ongoing training and guidance in SCI security, including local procedures, OPSEC, COMSEC, and Security Awareness.
Assisting with indoctrination processes, ensuring DD Form 254 is properly executed and coordinated with the Unit Security Manager (USM) and local IP office.
Managing Security Service Representatives (SSRs), ensuring proper appointment, management, and training. Analyzing and resolving issues related to SCI personnel security, proposing solutions that comply with applicable standards.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or four years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
At least 3 years of experience related to SCI Security.
Familiarity with security policies, manuals, ICDs, JAFANs, DOD Manuals, and other guiding documents.
Clearance Requirements :
Active TS / SCI clearance required.
Willingness to sit for a polygraph if required.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
Occasional movement inside the office to access files and equipment.
Continuous operation of computers and office machinery.
Frequent communication with colleagues and clients, including delivering presentations and exchanging information accurately.
