Advocate Health . This position is responsible for performing complex preventative maintenance, service, and technical repairs on various building, utility/support, and Life Safety systems. The role includes maintaining life safety systems and documentation, sharing expertise, and assisting others. Major Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and technical repairs on complex facility systems. Diagnose and implement repairs for Utility and Infrastructure Systems. Install, replace, and maintain building, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and controls systems. Operate and monitor advanced utility equipment (generators, chillers, boilers, fire protection systems) and use building automation systems for troubleshooting. Maintain vacuum, compressed air, and medical gas systems. Read blueprints, Life Safety drawings, and manuals for accurate task completion. Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
Valid Driver’s License. Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or recognized industry certification/license requiring Continuing Education Units or periodic renewal. Education Required
Advanced technical training beyond High School. Experience Required
At least 4 years of experience in industrial/trades maintenance or operations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to work independently with advanced technical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Building Automation Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems. Understanding of applicable compliance codes and guidelines. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Willingness to work shifts and participate in on-call duties. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, crawling, and reaching. Must lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, and up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level. Push/pull with 50 lbs. of force. Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards; knowledge of safety precautions. Travel may be required, with exposure to road/weather hazards. Preferred Qualifications
Community College/Trade school degree. Trade/Tech School Trades Certificate or recognized certification/license. 7+ years of relevant industrial/trades maintenance experience. This job description outlines expected duties and may include additional related responsibilities. Additional Information
