Base pay range
$130.00/yr - $150.00/yr We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems, data infrastructure, and DevOps practices, ready to contribute to our core operations. Desired Skill Sets: Infrastructure / DevOps Background (Google experience preferred, or equivalent DevOps experience): Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and software release processes: Google-specific: Rapid Release / BUILD process Incident Response Management (IRM) and On-Call practices: Google-specific: IRM/On-Call Equivalent DevOps experience includes: PagerDuty, Opsgenie, VictorOps, xMatters, Blameless Code Review and Pre-commit checks: Equivalent DevOps experience includes: Gerrit, GitHub Pull Requests, GitLab Merge Requests, Bitbucket Pull Requests, linting tools, static analysis tools Familiarity with the following is a plus: Container orchestration and cluster management: Google-specific: Borg / MPM Equivalent DevOps experience includes: Kubernetes, Apache Mesos, Nomad, Docker Swarm Distributed Storage systems: SQL/NoSQL databases and data processing frameworks: Google-specific: GoogleSQL / Data Pipelines / Query Performance / Plx Equivalent DevOps experience includes: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, Kafka, data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks Technical Skill Sets: System Administration: Solid understanding of Linux environments, including command-line tools, scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Go), and system-level troubleshooting. Large-Scale Data Experience: Demonstrated experience working with and managing large datasets, specifically petabytes of data. Data Pipeline Optimization: Proven ability to optimize data pipelines and identify issues in existing pipelines. Data Architecture: Experience in revamping existing data architecture to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. Monitoring and Alerting: Experience with monitoring tools and practices to proactively identify and resolve issues (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic). Troubleshooting & Debugging: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems and various infrastructure components. Automation: Experience with automation tools and principles to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef). Cloud Platforms: Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure). Version Control: Proficiency with Git for source code management and collaborative development. Soft Skills: Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective, scalable solutions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes active listening and the ability to explain complex issues simply. Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative environment. Adaptability & Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt quickly to new technologies, processes, and priorities. Proactiveness & Initiative: A self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and taking ownership of resolutions. Customer Focus: A strong commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of internal and external customers. On-Call Responsiveness: Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to critical incidents and on-call rotations. Core Responsibilities: Provide first-line Infrastructure On-Call support, ensuring rapid response and resolution for critical system issues. Monitor daily system alerts and notifications with a proactive approach to maintain operational stability and performance. Assist in maintaining and improving data infrastructure, contributing to its reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
