We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director to lead our Master Data Governance (MDG) and delivery organization. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing NetApp’s enterprise-wide data governance strategy, ensuring high-quality, trusted master data that powers business operations, analytics, and AI-driven innovation. This is a Hybrid role.
Enterprise Data Governance Strategy: Define and implement a scalable, federated data governance model that aligns with NetApp’s strategic priorities and supports both operational and analytical use cases. Organizational Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of governance leads, data analysts and product managers. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with IT, business, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into data governance initiatives and drive adoption across the enterprise. Stewardship & Governance Councils: Establish and lead data stewardship programs, governance councils, and domain-specific working groups to drive accountability, data literacy, and ownership across business units. Policy & Standards Development: Develop and enforce enterprise-wide data policies, standards, and procedures for master data domains (e.g., Product, Customer, Vendor, Contact, Entitlement & Install Base). Metadata & Data Quality Management: Oversee the implementation of metadata management and data quality frameworks, including profiling, monitoring, and remediation processes. MDM Platform Ownership: Act as the business/system owner for master data platforms and tools (e.g., SAP MDG, Collibra), ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and data product strategies. AI & Analytics Enablement: Partner with data science and analytics teams to ensure master data readiness for AI/GenAI use cases, including semantic layer integration and data productization Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal data governance requirements, including audit readiness, access controls, and data lifecycle management.

Requirements and Education
15 years of experience in data governance, master data management, or enterprise data strategy, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in implementing enterprise MDM and data governance programs in complex, global organizations. Deep understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), data stewardship models, and data quality methodologies. Hands-on experience with MDM and governance tools such as SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, Collibra, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, Azure) and data consumption patterns (e.g., data products, semantic layers). Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment. Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Preferred
Experience in regulated industries or environments with complex compliance requirements. Familiarity with AI/ML data readiness and data mesh/data fabric architectures. Certification in data governance or MDM (e.g., CDMP, Informatica Certified MDM Sp
Compensation
The target salary range for this position is 199,750 - 258,500 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
