It's no wonder our business and our team are thriving!As a Journeyman Combo Welder, you'll be responsible for executing high-quality welds across a wide range of metals and alloys using various manual welding processes. Your expertise will ensure complete penetration and fusion, preventing distortion and meeting precise specifications for dimension, tolerance, and strength in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).Key Responsibilities:Process Mastery: Apply a variety of manual welding processes, including multiple gas torch processes (e.g., oxy-acetylene) and various electric arc processes (e.g., gas metal-arc, gas tungsten-arc, plasma-arc, atomic hydrogen welding).Material Versatility: Weld all types of commonly used metals and alloys of various sizes, shapes, and thicknesses, including dissimilar metals like copper to steel, stainless steel, and carbon steel pipe.Precision & Control: Control metals and welding techniques to prevent distortion or burning, ensuring welds meet exact dimensions, tolerances, and strength requirements.Planning & Layout: Determine the scope of work and necessary steps, planning and laying out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders.Material Selection: Select the proper materials, including the right size and type of welding electrodes or rods.Complex Welds: Successfully make difficult welds, including those in hard-to-reach places, that must meet close tolerance, strength, and other requirements (e.g., evenness of fit, smoothness of contour).Quality Assurance: Ensure final welds are free from cracks, slag, or other defects and meet specifications and accepted trade standards.
