nJob Summary:
nThe Home Health Aide (HHA) provides the client with various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.
nEssential Functions:
nPersonal Care
nProvide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail /skin care, back care, foot care, shampoo, oral hygiene, ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercise, safe use of equipment and assistive devices (wheelchair, walker, crutches, cane), change of position, with toileting, commode, incontinent care, meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
nCompanion/Sitter/Household Management
nProvide companionship and respite services for family
nPerform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms
nMedication Services
nAssist with medications that the client self-administers
nQualifications/Educational Requirements:
nHigh school graduate or G.E.D certificate
nAt least six months experience as a Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (in homes or facilities)
nAchieve a minimum score of 70% on the competency exam (Home Health Aide Test)
nMeet passing criteria on the DEARS Ethics test
nAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
nPossess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
nCPR certification is preferred but not a requirement for employment
nHave Social Security card or birth certificate
