Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining operations, including setup, programming, and operation of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and manual machining equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, produce high-quality precision components, and contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.Responsibilities:Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment to fabricate precision parts and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.Programming: Write and edit CNC programs using G-code or CAM software to control machining operations, optimize tool paths, and achieve desired part geometries, tolerances, and surface finishes.Tool Selection and Maintenance: Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures for machining operations, install and align tooling, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure equipment performance and tool longevity.Quality Assurance: Monitor machining processes, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, and perform in-process and final quality checks to verify conformance to specifications and tolerances.Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand part dimensions, tolerances, material requirements, and machining instructions, and make adjustments as necessary to meet design specifications.Material Handling: Handle and load raw materials, workpieces, and tooling into machines, fixtures, and chucks, and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes in a safe and efficient manner.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following lockout/tagout procedures when servicing equipment.Documentation and Reporting: Record production data, machine settings, tool changes, and other relevant information in logs, reports, or electronic systems, and communicate any issues, deviations, or concerns to supervisors or team members.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements, and collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to implement changes and optimize machining operations.Training and Mentorship: Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior machinists and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to develop their skills and capabilities in machining techniques and technologies.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or related field preferred.years of experience working as a machinist in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in CNC machining and manual machining techniques.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Experience with CNC programming, setup, and operation, including knowledge of G-code programming language and CAM software.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles, tooling concepts, cutting parameters, and machining processes.Familiarity with a variety of machining equipment and tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and precision measuring instruments.Attention to detail, precision, and quality, with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality parts within specified tolerances and requirements.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment, to meet production goals and deadlines.Excellent problem-solving skills, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing requirements, and pursue professional development opportunities in machining and manufacturing.
