Job Type Full-timeDescriptionOVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a Punch Press Operator II to produce parts from metal using a punch press, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision cuts and punches into metal. Punch Operators monitor machines making sure they are working at full capacity, stocked with needed materials, and well-maintained.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMeasure completed work to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, and/or rulersExamine completed work for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flawsRead work orders/production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerancesLoad work into machineSet-up and start machine, monitor operations, and record operational dataTest and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand toolsInstall, align, and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand toolsClean and lubricate machinesPosition, align, and secure work against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on diesPerform periodic checks on outputPerform typical machine shop operations; set up and run, de-burDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designer Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety proceduresPerform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)Uphold site efficiency standards Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and proceduresMeet the standards of the site attendance policyAssist in other work areas as assignedRun plasma cutterUse tapping headSet up new special tools (wheel-ribs)Set-up multi-toolsVisually check sheet lifter and cupsRemove die base/reinstallWork completely independently without supervisionAbility to trouble shoot and resolve issues in assigned work centerMeet or exceed company PPM level standards by consistently producing quality workRetain knowledge from each jobFully understand workmanship standards for both Advanced Laser and customersAchieve and maintain any certifications required in the work areaCross trained in multiple workstationsKnowledge in all work centers with the ability to work/run machines in multiple work centers Assist in preventative maintenance of the machines RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1+ years of related experienceRead and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
