We're on the hunt for CNC Machine Operators for both Mill and Lathe who knows their way around a blueprint like it's a treasure map, doesn't flinch at tolerances tighter than your favorite jeans, and thrives in the industrial symphony of gears, grinders, and glory.MVP is looking to hire both Lathe and Mill CNC Machine Operators for our Machine Shop in Knoxville, TN for our Weekend shift Friday - Sunday with hours from 5am - 5:30pm! In this role, you will operate conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control machines (Lathe, Mill, Robodrill and Screw Machines) to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. You will measure and inspect parts to ensure conformance to engineering specifications. This Machine Shop creates many different types of parts so your days will be filled with variety! In addition, we also offer a full package of benefits including; Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Plan, 401k, 13 days of Paid Time Off, 2 Floating holidays and 9 Company-paid holidays.What You Will Do:Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, and grinders.Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.Operates CNC machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Starts and observes CNC machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard metrology equipment.Fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly and verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.What's In It For You?Weekend shift means weekdays to yourself - perfect for side hustles, hobbies, or sleeping in.Join a team that values quality, craftsmanship, and an incredible culture.Work with people who take machining seriously. RequirementsMust-Haves (No Posers Please):3+ years makin' chips in an industrial toolroom OR a degree in Industrial Arts / Metal Fab - flex either one.Know your way around ASME Y14.5, G.D.&T., and aren't scared of big acronyms.Pro with metrology tools and inspections - you like to measure twice, cut once.Can read technical drawings without breaking a sweat.Geometry, trig, fractions, and ratios? That's your jam.You lift up to 50 lbs like it's part of your warmup.Comfortable working near moving machines.
