Description
The Clinical Intern Program Manager plays a key leadership role in designing, building, and scaling our Clinical Internship Program with a strong focus on domestic violence-informed care. This role goes beyond supervision; it is responsible for developing a structured, trauma-informed learning and development framework that equips interns to support survivors of family violence with empathy, skill, and professionalism.
As the manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of the program, including curriculum design, onboarding structure, training modules, and evaluation processes, while ensuring alignment with licensing requirements and best practices in the field of trauma and mental health.
In addition, you will oversee day-to-day coordination and supervision of clinical interns, manage program operations, and foster relationships with universities, community partners, and other key stakeholders to support growth and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
CLINICAL SERVICES: Provides direct supervision to all clinical interns in the Clinical Services Department. Provides crisis support to clients as needed. Reviews the need for group and individual child-care contractors and ensures contracts, grant requirements, and budgets are managed and maintained. Provides oversight for interns seeking clinical licensure and provides agency and client educational opportunities to facilitate optimal student growth and development. INTERN TRAINING
Observes new interns working with clients conducting individual, group, and/or intake calls for clients and provides feedback and support on counseling or other techniques and outcomes, in intern notes and weekly meetings. Ensures each intern will have a minimum of four trainings per year. Collaborates with the Development team to ensure that training programs meet the needs of program interns. Ensures new interns have a smooth, informative, and productive onboarding process with the agency by providing an orientation process that includes mentoring, coaching, and training. COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Develop, implement, and monitor a marketing strategy to broaden the Clinical Intern Program's visibility within the community. This plan should include community education, training, and participation in relevant community meetings and coordination with the Development Department for marketing collateral. Establishes and maintains relationships with institutions of higher learning in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to strengthen partnerships and increase intern visibility across the agency. Actively cultivates and maintains collaborative working relationships with social service and/or law enforcement agencies in the community that assist the clients of The Family Place. ADMINISTRATION
Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an internship program, overseeing and coordinating the program once established, assigning interns to various departments, and managing site supervisors. Acts as the liaison between TFP and the educational institution Provides ongoing assessment and evaluation of the clinical program to ensure that client needs, agency standards, and funding requirements are met. Provides management of the daily operations of the Clinical Intern Program and supervises interns, including interviewing, hiring, and evaluating job performance. Ensures accurate and up-to-date documentation, client files, and statistics as required by agency policies and funding sources. Manages concerns relating to internships, scheduling, productivity, customer service skills, and workload expectations. Provides regular individual and team clinical supervision; provides clinical supervision to interns working towards full licensure. Facilitates weekly individual and group supervision meetings. Collaborates with the Chief Program Officer in program development, grant writing, community presentations, and grant reporting. Assists in preparing and managing the approved program budget. Works closely with the Clinical Services team to coordinate services for clients. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Attends agency provided professional development courses relating to domestic violence and business acumen. Maintains current licensure by completing the necessary annual trainings and certifications. Other Duties:
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Education, or related field required.
Three years of experience working with children/adolescents and/or family violence required and
two years management or supervisory experience required.
Currently holds an LPC or LCSW
supervisor credential
or meets the requirements outlined by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council to obtain Board approval.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver's License and clear driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, incest recovery, and related issues Knowledge of the power and control wheel Knowledge of, and ability to, apply counseling and diagnostic theories and techniques to a full range of diverse client populations. Knowledge and experience in program development and performance management. Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) are required. Ability to build strong teams to meet performance goals. Understanding of the agency's mission and culture, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with interns and clients in all circumstances. Ability to relate with adult and child clients through understanding, respect, and skilled communication. Ability to follow all safety and precautionary rules and measures. Ability to prioritize and self-motivate to accomplish program goals. Ability to perform work efficiently and effectively in stressful situations. Ability to follow professional code of ethics. Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements:
Duties are usually performed while sitting with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).
Working Conditions : Work must be performed in the agency office and is performed in an office-like setting.
