Electronics Technician (Sublan)
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Technical Support and Test Group, Weapons Repair Division, of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities include: Providing technical support to Fleet and Shore customers pertaining to submarine Local Area Networks (LAN), Information Assurance (IA), Information Technology (IT) systems interfaces, and External Communication Systems (ECS). Providing engineering and technical expertise in TRIDENT Command and Control System (CCS)/Non-Propulsion Electronic System (NPES) hardware and software and acting as the CCS/NPES SUBLAN/CANES technical point of contact. Providing Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA), waterfront/deck-plate logistics, management/coordination assistance and services; technical over-sight and consultation; over-the-shoulder maintenance training; and FTA data collection and reporting. Conducting system and equipment operational and maintenance assessments which include scheduled shipboard assessments and continuous operational and maintenance data assessments. Designing, implementing, performing, and evaluating local test plans and procedures to determine material readiness. Identifying, resolving, and reporting discrepancies and providing over-the-shoulder maintenance training to ships force and shop personnel. Providing support for the following: modernization and installation, Shipyard/Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA), logistics and configuration management, and CHENG/Engineering Technical Authority. Acting as the Refit Technical Support Manager for assigned TRIDENT submarines. Creating and developing plans and procedures for isolation and resolution of difficult and complex shipboard system problems. Analyzing overall refit performance indicators/trends and projected workloads, as well as actual performance, and evaluating their relationship to the Weapons Repair Department. Requirements include: GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical electronic engineering methods and principles to conduct operational and maintenance assessments of shipboard electronic systems and associated software to analyze findings, identify deficiencies or trends, and recommend corrective actions in support of the modernization, installation, repair, or maintenance of shipboard networked systems. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
