*Position Summary* We are seeking a strategic, detail-driven Controller to lead the financial operations of our dynamic and growing enterprise, which includes over 30 legal entities and a lean but impactful team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing day-to-day financial management, reporting, compliance, and team development. The right candidate will play a key role in scaling the company — with a growth path toward CFO responsibilities, equity participation, and long-term wealth-building opportunities.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead and mentor the accounting team to foster a culture of accuracy, trust, and accountability * Oversee daily accounting operations including GL management, financial reporting, payroll, insurance, and budgeting * Manage multi-entity consolidations and inter-company transactions * Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements * Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting systems, and financial processes * Collaborate with senior leadership on financial forecasting, KPIs, and strategic planning * Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and reporting (experience with Sage Intacct a plus) * Participate in insurance, tax, legal, and operational decision-making * Position the finance team for long-term growth and scalability
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) * 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role * Experience with multi-entity or holding company structures strongly preferred * Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and risk management * Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Sage Intacct experience is a plus * Real estate, construction, or private equity experience a bonus
