About the job Configuration Manager
A Configuration Manager ensures system consistency and integrity across software, hardware, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle. You'll define and enforce configuration controls, maintain accurate baselines, and support change management in line with frameworks like ISO 9001, CMMI, or ITIL. This role is especially critical in regulated spaces such as aerospace, defense, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage configuration management (CM) processes, baselines, and policies
Oversee change control via Change Control Boards (CCBs) and ensure stakeholder alignment
Maintain detailed Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) or versioned repositories
Conduct configuration audits to verify compliance and support release activities
Facilitate documentation and release coordination across engineering, QA, and operations
Ensure adherence to standards such as ISO 9001, CMMI, ITIL, or MIL-STD-973
Improve automation and integration of CM workflows in development pipelines
Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering, CS, Information Systems, or related field
2+ years in configuration management, release management, or systems engineering
Proficiency in tools like Git, SVN, Rational ClearCase, or Windchill
Knowledge of change control frameworks and CM best practices
Strong attention to documentation and audit preparation
