As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving requests, transmitting messages, and tracking vehicles to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can remain calm and composed-especially in fast-paced or stressful situations. Your role is crucial in enabling efficient communication between teams and ensuring the accurate and timely exchange of information.
Answer incoming calls in both English and Spanish from waste drivers on route. Address driver issues and customer requests by providing solutions or relaying information. Receive and dispatch orders for swap-outs, exchanges, and missed pickups. Prioritize calls based on urgency and importance. Use cell phone, tablet, or computer systems to send messages to drivers, vehicles, or field units. Monitor truck routes and statuses to coordinate schedules and adjust priorities as needed. Provide drivers with information regarding orders, traffic conditions, obstacles, and requirements. Accurately enter data, maintain logs, and update records of calls, activities, and other relevant information. What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role. Fluency in Spanish is preferred. Strong technical skills and familiarity with dispatching tools and methods. Fast and accurate typing skills with experience in data entry. Knowledge of maps, routing, and scheduling best practices. Proficiency in English (both oral and written). Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Active listening skills and strong communication abilities. Sound judgment and critical thinking. High school diploma or equivalent.
