Full-Time We are seeking a College & Career Coordinator to join our Family Hope Center Program. As a College & Career Coordinator, you will Shine Hope as you provide support toward strategic goals and best practices for the College and Career Program for Family Hope Centers to ensure alignment with Buckner's mission, vision, and values. You will also participate in developing and implementing plans to meet overall goals and objectives for the program and serve as a liaison to institutions of higher learning, community collaborators, and businesses. Collaborate with FHC Directors/Managers and Teen Coordinators to design, develop and support the implementation of a holistic College and Career program. Develop a College and Career curriculum with program components, best practices, tools and resources to address youth development in areas such as job and life skills; career exploration and requirements; college exploration and requirements; leadership and communication skills, character development, goal setting, and educational success. Provide support for the local Family Hope Centers to meet strategic goals and processes to ensure best practices, continuity and alignment with any grant requirements related to the College and Career program. Develop and implement program structure. Manage/coordinate reporting for College & Career sites ensuring updates are completed in a timely manner, compliance is maintained and requested program reports are available. Work alongside Teen Coordinators as they implement the College and Career program at their site; provide ongoing training and support for the Teen Coordinators to maintain program quality and compliance. Lead data collection and data measurement. In collaboration with Program Development & Design, develop a tool to monitor and track progress of enrolled College and Career youth. Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to identify opportunities for youth internships and career exploration. Establish college collaborations and coordinate college seminars/workshops, college tours; identify potential financial aid and scholarship opportunities for participants. Attend and participate in various community outreach and school events, parent conferences and other approved events as needed. Develop and implement systems for family engagement in the College and Career program. Support Teen Coordinators as they engage parents and provide parent information sessions and coordinate regular events at the FHC including, but not limited to, youth leadership events, apprenticeships and community service projects. Assist program participants with accessing college and career readiness resources, including, but not limited to, assisting with program enrollments, assisting with travel to and from college and testing sites, and other services. What you'll bring:
Requires a bachelor's degree in education, human services, business or other related field. Minimum 2 years prior related experience working with children and families required. Prior related experience in similar field required. Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English professionally, bilingual in Spanish preferred. Requires ability to develop, implement and deliver curriculum-based training. Requires knowledge of and ability to implement consistent classroom management techniques. Requires willingness to take CPR, First Aid and specialized activity training. Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner. Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people. Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
