We are seeking a pioneering QA Engineer to establish and lead our quality assurance practice. As our first QA hire, you will be responsible for building our QA processes from the ground up, with a particular focus on implementing automated testing using Ascential Test and Playwright testing suite. This is a unique opportunity to shape the quality culture and testing practices of our team. This position is on-site 5 days a week at our Corporate Office in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Responsibilities
Establish and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices from the ground up Design and build the testing infrastructure and framework using Playwright and Ascential Test Create comprehensive testing strategies aligned with business objectives Develop automated test suites and continuous integration pipelines Define quality metrics and establish reporting processes Create documentation for QA processes and procedures Train and mentor future QA team members Collaborate with development teams to integrate quality practices into the development lifecycle Evaluate and recommend QA tools and technologies Qualifications
Required Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing Proven experience with Playwright testing suite Demonstrated experience with Ascential Test Suite Track record of establishing QA processes and best practices Experience building testing frameworks and infrastructure from scratch Proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, .NET, or Python preferred) Preferred Expert-level experience with Playwright testing suite Proficiency in Ascential Test methodologies and implementation Experience with version control systems (Git) Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and implementation Expertise in testing methodologies (TDD, BDD) Experience with bug tracking and test management tools API testing experience Performance testing knowledge Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
