Assistant Director of Standardized Patients

With oversight and direction from the Director and Medical Director of the Center for Standardized Patients and Simulation (CSPS), the Assistant Director of Simulation will manage all day-to-day operational aspects of simulation events sponsored by CSPS. Other primary duties will include operation and maintenance of all simulation equipment, depreciation and replacement of current simulation equipment, supervision of simulation specialists, and mentoring simulation specialists in the area of professional development and certification.
JOB SUMMARY
Provides assistance to the Director and Medical Director in the development and implementation of education programs that advance the knowledge, skills, and competency of osteopathic medical students, physicians and, other health care professionals utilizing CSPS's standardized patient program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work closely with faculty on curriculum development and delivery
2. Oversee student scheduling for assessment and evaluation
3. Provide oversight and operational assistance for standardized patient recruitment, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluation, and reimbursement.
4. Maintain and update current files including standardized patient rosters, addresses, contact information, patient characteristics for education, etc.
5. Coordinates with the Assistant Director for Simulation in the operation of high fidelity simulators and technology required for educational and assessment activities
6. Works cooperatively with others in clinical examination construction and delivery, including computer based evaluations, standardized patient, and, as needed, hybrid simulation encounters.
7. Provides feedback on budgetary needs in the support of the Standardized Patient program within CSPS.
8. Work cooperatively with others to ensure the the efficient and effective operation of the department, including any required tangible or intangible resources.
9. Respond to inquiries and function as liaison between faculty, administrators, staff, students, and other outside contacts on a daily basis related to the Standardized Patient program within CSPS.
10. Manage communications for the department among faculty, staff of the university, students, standardized patients, vendors, etc. for Standardized Patient activities.
11. Coordinate functions for curricula and non-curricula activities relating to the outside use of standardized patient training, such as MUTA, GTA, etc.
12. Coordinate all details of quality management activities related to standardized patients, including reporting requirements related to accreditation activities.
13. Develop and distribute communications and materials required for standardized patient activities, including scheduling of students, standardized patients coordination, payroll for standardized patients, and faculty development.
14. Develops and prepares educational and evaluation presentations and material related to the Standardized Patient program within CSPS.
15. Work within B-line (LMS) to set-up and create recordings of standardized patient activities. Utilize video playback for debriefing sessions, create an organized storage system for AV recordings, and export video footage for training of standardized patient staff, faculty, facilitators and assessors.
16. Other duties as requested and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Minimum qualifications:
•High school graduate or GED.
Preferred qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree.
•At least three years of related experience in leadership or supervison
•At least three years of related experience with standardized patients.
•Certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)

Maybe required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include, but not limited to pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
