We provide engineering services to steel fabricators across the country. Interns at Apex gain rare hands-on exposure to steel fabrication, drafting workflows, and delegated design practices that aren't taught in school. You'll work directly with our licensed engineers and have access to our partner fabrication shop to see designs built in real time.What You'll Do:- Assist in calculations for stair and rail systems using engineering principles- Shadow engineers during delegated design workflows and shop coordination- Help prepare markups and revise plans with CAD and Bluebeam- Observe shop walkthroughs and learn real-world constructability principles- Organize design references, calculations, and code materials under guidanceRequirements:- Currently pursuing a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university- Completed (or enrolled in) Mechanics of Materials or Structural Analysis- Eager to learn in a fast-paced environment and take feedback well- Strong communication and organizational skills- Must be based in or near the Gilbert / Phoenix area for in-person shop accessWhat We Offer:- Paid part-time internship with flexible hours- Real exposure to steel fabrication, delegated design, and shop coordination- Mentorship from a licensed PE and practicing structural engineers- Potential for full-time employment track upon graduationJob Type: Part-timeWork Location: In person
