Packaging Operator 2
Work Location: St. Louis, Missouri Shift: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM Your Role: The Packaging Operator 2 at the Spruce site will stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approved packaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocols. Job duties include: Perform staging, filling, capping, labeling, and overpacking of liquid, powder, and lyophilized products in line with approved packaging specifications, using both manual and semi-automated processes; fill hazardous and aseptic products in controlled environments and handle complex fills independently. Set up, operate, clean, and troubleshoot semi-automated and automated fill lines, cappers, labelers, and other equipment; utilize pumps, filters, electronic balances, and torque wrenches to handle bulk materials accurately and safely. Adhere to all safety protocols and quality systems, including ISO 13485 and ISO 9001; wear and maintain appropriate PPE, participate in safety trainings and inspections, document equipment usage, and ensure calibration compliance. Train fellow operators, participate in 6S and process improvement initiatives, maintain clean work areas, pack kits as needed, and transport materials safely throughout the facility using appropriate handling equipment. Physical Attributes: Wear PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), Tyvek suits, shoe covers, and respirator Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted & move more than 50 pounds with assistance Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for the entire shift Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjust focus Work with and in proximity of hazardous chemicals and human source materials Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 6+ months experience in packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, processing, or a customer service environment Preferred Qualifications: Some college coursework in chemistry or other science 6+ months of previous experience weighing chemicals 3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment Basic math skills-including metrics and conversions Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP's, UOP's Mechanical skills with the ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipment Troubleshoot automated packaging equipment Strong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills The Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
