Assistant Chief Of Operations
The Assistant Chief of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day guidance and coordination for fire protection functions ensuring effective and economical operations of all activities. Functional work includes, but is not limited to, planning and organization of work, responding to emergency calls, investigating fires, monitoring the Fire Control Center, training personnel, completing required reports and plans to assure the daily operational effectiveness of the department. The qualified candidate shall report to the Fire Chief and should develop a training program to ensure all Fire/EMS responders are certified by the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification program IAW DoDM 6055.06, AFI 32-2001, Air Force F&ES EMS Playbook, and/or a certification program approved by the COR. The Contractor shall ensure that all training is scheduled, tracked, and performed IAW the Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (FESTP) and documented in FES-IMS. Minimum training requirements will be contingent on firefighter's Tier and duty position. Responsibilities include working as a team to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Fire Services Support Department, implementing operational policy, procedures and developing contingency plans, and ensuring completion of required reports, inspections, plans and documentation. The role also involves ensuring communication and upholding company standards, leading by example, and working as a team to provide guidance to firefighters and support personnel. Additionally, the position requires following a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with V2X, OSHA and United States Airforce requirements, and maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere. The role also involves proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property, precise execution of company time reporting procedures, and accurate completion of timesheet. The job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a degree in fire safety or related field preferred, and one year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education. Required qualifications include being Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor III, Fire Inspector II, and Hazmat Incident Commander, and Airport Fire Fighter certified, having NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800, and having current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and CPR certification. The candidate must also pass and maintain entry-level physical examination in accordance with NFPA 1582, have a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver's License, and maintain a valid U.S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. The candidate must also be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, and background checks.
