Administrative Coordinator
Organization's Summary Statement: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support and coordinate administrative functions for a senior faculty member, including scheduling, support services, data collection and management, and assisting with faculty support processes. This position will manage travel arrangements, calendar scheduling, purchasing, and activities associated with the faculty. He/she will serve as the assistant for academic processes related to student workers, sponsored project office, international students and scholars office, as well as research sponsors for various programmatic coordination needs, and other duties as required. The A. Physical Demands: Mostly sedentary work is performed in an office environment, requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards for extended periods. Ability to review, prepare, and analyze data and figures, transcribe, and engage in extensive reading of materials and computer screens. Ability to traverse short/long distances on and off campus to attend meetings and events. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional secretarial, clerical, coordinator, or administrative experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
