Casitas Municipal Water District is hiring for a part-time seasonal position with a salary of $21.22 - $24.55 hourly. The job is located in Recreation, CA, under the Recreation Waterpark department. The job number is 00075 and is open for applications starting from January 8, 2025, with a continuous closing date. Job Description Under direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the CWA Technician will be responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the Casitas Water Adventure Lazy River/Water playground equipment. This includes tasks related to facility safety, water treatment, and maintenance of the Casitas Water Adventure. Job Duties
: Seasonal start-up and shut down of all pertinent equipment. Practices established by the Health Department and National Aquatics Certifications Agencies. Test and adjust water chemistry. Meet standards for oxidation and sanitation. Maintain and interpret operational and re-circulation efficiency of various filters and filter media system. Inspect and assure cleanliness and appearance of general pool area and equipment. Check and interpret gauges, flow meters, and monitoring equipment for operation efficiency. Understand practices of operation and preventive maintenance for pumps, suction lines, drains, piping, bactericidal equipment, balance tanks, valves, hair and lent skimmer traps, flow and control switches of each system. Program and calibrate water chemistry microprocessor. Remove and clean microprocessor sample probes and reinstall as necessary. Develop emergency and accident procedures. Observe and maintain established safety practices. Record keeping, equipment performance evaluation, reports and inventory. Be current in developments of new pool equipment, facility designs and operation techniques. Understand repair techniques of all related pool equipment. Design analytical techniques for trouble shooting pool problems. Maintain conditioners and use of sanitizer for continuous chemical treatment and effectiveness. Develop inventory of supplies and tools required to do the job. Work in a team atmosphere. Lifeguarding Certification
: American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED Qualifications
: 1 year of pool operation and maintenance experience. Technical and Mechanical background. Trained in storage and use of hazardous chemicals in the pool industry. Computer literate Desirable Qualifications
: Completion of hazardous chemical safety training. CPO Certification. Confined Spaces Certification. Physical Requirements
: Able to lift up to 50lbs safely. Vision with normal ranges. Use of both hands. Withstand exposure to heat, dust and treated water. Work in an outdoor environment. Exposure to direct sunlight and reflection off of water. Work with hazardous chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid. Work in confined spaces. Be able to bend and stoop. Be able to climb ladders. Other Requirements
: Documents to provide identity and certify legal ability to work in US Drug and Alcohol Screen by CMWD approved doctor. Successful completion of a live scan. Must wear a job provided uniform and safety equipment. DMV printout Must be 18 years or older
