Media Relations Manager

The successful candidate for this Media Relations Manager position will have a sophisticated style of writing about the private aviation industry, our Cleveland-based global command center, our diverse fleet and our commitment to safety and luxury among other elements of this global business. This position will be part of the marketing department's internal media relations agency "The Firm" which serves the flying brands under the Directional Aviation family of companies. Based at Flexjet's Cleveland, Ohio headquarters, this position will require about 30% travel including occasional international travel. While not required, a passion for aviation and travel are desirable. Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the creation of high-quality written content for various channels, including press releases, media statements, executive speeches, thought leadership articles and corporate communications. Oversee the development of engaging stories that highlight our company's strengths, such as our Cleveland-based global command center, our diverse fleet and our commitment to safety and luxury. The ability to translate industry jargon into compelling and easy to understand stories that will attract news media attention. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop messaging that effectively communicates our company vision, mission and values. Work closely with the marketing department to ensure efforts support and complement overall marketing strategies. Work closely with the publicist to develop news media relationships as well as the storylines. Proactively seek out information to inform assigned writing projects from subject matter experts from across all functions of the company. Manage Bond Holder Relations communications. Develop and maintain the company's media relations style guide and messaging framework, ensuring consistency across all forms of media communications. Analyze media relations campaign effectiveness and prepare regular reports, using data to inform future strategies. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and relevant news to guide company initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Contribute to the development of overall media relations strategies and best practices. Copyedit, proofread, revise existing content and always have an eye for what it truly takes for a draft to make it to "Final" form. Maintain knowledge of existing trends as well as best practices for content creation. Support all writing with a crisp rationale about how and why a provided draft is structured to achieve maximum effectiveness. Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree: English, journalism, marketing, business or communications. 5+ years' experience. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate with C-level executives. Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong grasp of AP Style and grammar as well as a wide sophisticated vocabulary. Demonstrate a history of success in media relations communications. Ability to accept feedback and work collaboratively as part of a team while still advocating a clear creative vision. Required Skills & Qualifications
Must possess the legal ability to work in the United States. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Must have excellent organizational skills and passionate attention to detail. Must have the ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines. Must be available to travel. Physical Requirements
