Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

Apex Systems is currently hiring for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with an Air Force client. Project Details / Mission Supported: Provide cybersecurity and security engineering services for an Air Force program. Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies. Support RMF, NIST SP 800-53, STIGs, and SCAP compliance efforts. Build, patch, and maintain HBSS and ACAS servers, including ePO, Security Center, and Nessus. Perform continuous monitoring, POAM management, and vulnerability remediation. Collaborate with system administrators and engineers to ensure secure system configurations and updates. Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills: 5-7+ years of experience in systems security engineering, including design and architecture. TS/SCI clearance required. Security+ certification. Expertise in RMF, STIGs, SCAP, and ICD 503 accreditation processes. Experience with HBSS and ACAS server deployment, patching, and maintenance. Strong understanding of SIPR and JWICS A&A processes. Ability to conduct SCAP scans and manage RedHat yum repositories for offline patching. Location: Washington D.C.
