Food & Beverage Team Leader Role at Target

Leadership experience in guest service fundamentals and building a guest first culture Food & beverage business acumen: department sales trends, freshness and quality, inventory management, guest shopping patterns and pricing and promotions strategies Daily and weekly workload planning to prioritize food & beverage priorities and meet sales goals and deliver on department and store targets Talent management, including skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining team members As a Food & Beverage Team Leader, youll have the opportunity to: Understand sales goals and plan and execute daily/weekly workload to support food & beverage priorities while delivering on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, changes to salesfloor merchandise displays, sampling, and promotions Assess backroom and sales floor areas of Food & Beverage and potentially associated areas on a daily basis and review reporting to identify business trends Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable to expectations Maintain a fresh, full and food safe area during all operating hours including strong inventory management, area routines and food safety policies and procedures Deliver the food & beverage standards Validate and follow up on team members' progress against assigned prioritized workload tasks, production area routines, and adherence to Best Practices Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends This role would be perfect for someone who: Enjoys interacting and helping others, including guests that shop our store and fellow team members they work with Thrives in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role where teamwork, flexibility and creative problem solving are key to success Is open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times) Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Age 18 or older Previous retail and/or food experience preferred, but not required Strong interest and knowledge of the food & beverage business Ability to: lead and hold others accountable Communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed Work independently and as part of a team while focusing and being composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members Effective communication skills We expect candidates to: Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues Interpret instructions, reports and information Accurately manage cash register operations as needed Climb up and down ladders as needed Efficiently handle and move merchandise, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds Maintain flexibility in work schedule (e.g. nights, weekends and holidays); reliability punctuality and regular attendance necessary Work in varied temperatures and environments (e.g. fridges, outdoor Drive-Up, carryout), capable of remaining mobile for duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
