Summary/Objective: Promotes the company mission statement by joining the Project Manager as a team who work together to create a safe work environment, build a quality project and keep projects on schedule while earning a fair and reasonable profit. Essential Functions: Act as the main contact for the project at the jobsite. Oversee the project to make all critical field decisions. Oversee the project to ensure proper project decisions. Ensure Harper safety requirements are explained, implemented, and demonstrated. Develop and implement working relationship with Safety Manager. Project specific safety pre-planning. Manage timesheets for field staff. Manage and complete all daily reports. Manage all jobsite equipment. Have working knowledge of local building codes. Have working knowledge of all ADA code requirements. Ensure implementation of all required inspections for the project. Ensure by documenting and executing a proper Harper punch list prior to inviting Owner and Design Team punch list. Estimating and Preconstruction: Can affectively assist in Harper's efforts regarding estimating, scheduling, interviewing, etc. Procore: Fill-In Daily Log. Read commitment scopes of work and understand content. Navigate and understand how to utilize directory. Utilize and understand all functions of the drawings tab. Recent drawings. Overlay function of previous drawings. Attachments to drawings. Create inspections. Know where and how to utilize information from meeting minutes. Create and track an observation. Utilize the photos application. Create and maintain the punch list. Create an RFI for review by Superintendent and seek RFI information where applicable. Know where to find the schedule, read and understand. Understand how to navigate and seek information from Specs tool. Understand how to navigate and seek information from Submittals. Know how a project comes together better than anyone else and effectively communicate that plan throughout the team. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise field staff to ensure staff development. This includes Assistant Superintendents, Foreman, Field Engineers, and Interns. Also includes assisting in the development of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers. Work Environment: While performing the duties of Superintendent, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. Physical Demands: The Superintendent is required to work in a variety of conditions relative to construction jobsite environments and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, as assigned. Weather and climate conditions will vary throughout the progress of a project and the Superintendent must be able to inspect all ongoing construction activities over the duration of the assigned project. This role requires walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads. Inspection for quality, consistency and completeness of work frequently requires climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. Travel Required: Travel to/from multiple jobsites, projects, and offices. Minimal overnight or weekend travel. Driving a company-owned vehicle is required to perform duties. A valid state-issued license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, safe driving behavior, and adherence to our Driving and Truck Policy are required. Education and Experience: Minimum 10 years of jobsite supervision experience. Includes five plus years as a Superintendent. Scheduling: Ability to understand and create an Overall Project Schedule. Includes understanding critical milestone dates. Ability to understand and update an active Construction Schedule.
