Technical Leadership Position
We are looking for a candidate to provide key technical leadership on the design and development of Infinera's next generation PICs and drive the development of high performance tunable lasers, high speed optoelectronic components and the integration platform. The candidate will work within the PIC design and engineering team, alongside a group of strong individual contributors, on simulation, data analysis and product development leveraging reliable design concepts. Responsibilities will include guiding the performance verification and optimization of the devices and contributing towards the transfer to manufacturing of PIC products. Requirements: MS/PhD in engineering, 10+ years' experience in telecommunications, optoelectronics, or microelectronics development A strong understanding of optical components design, epitaxy, fabrication and component/system level tests. Strong background with semiconductor optical devices such as laser, detectors, modulators and other integrated waveguide devices. Ability to work with a large body of data and the necessary statistical analysis tools, and the ability to present the data and ideas to a diverse audience. The job will require frequent collaborative interaction with fab, epitaxy, test and reliability engineering, packaging, product engineering, and system engineering groups. Strong leadership and communication and engineering and project management skills Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership to a team of strong individual designers on the design and development of high performance tunable lasers, high speed devices and PIC integration Lead interactions within internal teams on design and qualification efforts Enhance and rigorously execute on design methodologies and processes Work with cross-functional teams to understand and define product requirements and plans Independently resolves issues and conquer technical challenges Provide inputs into product road maps This position requires direct or indirect access to certain confidential information, hardware, software, technology, or technical information (referred to here as "Export-Controlled Information") controlled under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
