Lead Warehouse Associate
The Lead Warehouse Associate assigns work to the warehouse personnel as directed by the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor and is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, service, security, and productivity. The starting pay for this position is $20.00 per hour, plus the $1.00 Lead Pay. The shift would be Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Load and unload freight efficiently and safely. Move product to storage areas with the proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area. Rotate the product as required by the customer. Ensure the integrity of the inventory of assigned customers and assist in conducting physical inventories. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, or repacking as needed. Accurately pick orders for shipment and assemble several types of merchandise to be shipped. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Place unsafe equipment out of service and request the necessary repairs. Assist management in forklift training and certification of personnel. Verify driver's paperwork, check and count freight for accuracy, damage, and infestation. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations by safe working practices and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. Assign work to warehouse personnel and ensure the work is completed in a timely fashion. Interact with warehouse management, customers, vendors, and the customer service team in a professional manner. Assume responsibility for the warehouse operation in the absence of warehouse supervision. Communicate potential personnel problems or cause for disciplinary action to the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisor for handling Complete required records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Participate in the selection and training of new warehouse personnel. Other duties may be assigned. What You Need: A. Education: (preferred level): High School diploma. B. Experience: (the minimum level of direct experience in a similar position): One to three years. C. Knowledge/Experience/Skills: The Lead Person must possess effective communication and people-handling skills and be able to read, count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly. The ability to efficiently operate a forklift is an important skill, and one must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
