Emergency Medical Technician
Nash County is offering a position for an Emergency Medical Technician. The salary range is $43,074.00 to $69,366.00 annually. The job is based in Nashville, NC and is a full-time position. The duties of this role include performing life support, transport, stabilization procedures, and emergency medical care at the basic level. The employee will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, apply medical treatment, and transport patients to medical facilities. The work is subject to various environmental conditions and the employee is exposed to human blood and blood borne pathogens. The essential duties and tasks involve operating the emergency medical unit, administering basic life support techniques, gathering patient information, completing records and reports, participating in training programs, and maintaining ambulances and equipment. Additional job duties may be required. Considerable knowledge of emergency medical procedures, equipment, and County geography is required. Skills in recognizing medical emergencies, operating rescue equipment, and communicating effectively are necessary. The ability to work in diverse situations, respond calmly in emergencies, and maintain confidentiality is also important. Desirable education and experience include completion of training and experience to qualify as an EMT at the basic level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
