US News & World Report. We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Part-Time Endoscopy Technician at our Long Island Gastroenterology Specialists offices in Wantagh, NY. The Endoscopy Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare team, ensuring that endoscopic procedures are conducted safely and efficiently. This position involves preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting surgeons during procedures, and managing surgical instruments and equipment. The end result of this role is to enhance patient outcomes by providing high-quality support in the operating room. The Endoscopy Technician will also be responsible for adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures, contributing to a safe environment for both patients and staff. Ultimately, this position is vital in facilitating successful surgical interventions and improving the overall patient experience. The Endoscopy Technician must have the following minimum qualifications and experience: High School Diploma Experience in an operating room setting, particularly with endoscopic procedures. Must be able to perform Phlebotomy Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or equivalent. Additional certifications in specialized areas such as gastrointestinal endoscopy. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. Prefer Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:00am-2:00/3:00pm, but have flexibility for 2 days per week if needed. 16-24 hours/week.
