Revenue Cycle Supervisor For Professional Billing

Location: Streeterville, Chicago, IL Time Type: Full Time Job Description General Summary: The Revenue Cycle Supervisor for Professional Billing will assist the Manager/Director in the ongoing development and performance of the Revenue Cycle Professional Billing team in the day-to-day operations. The Revenue Cycle Professional Billing Supervisor oversees daily billing operations within the professional billing division. The role ensures efficient, accurate, and timely billing, collections, and resolution of accounts receivable issues. This position supervises billing staff, provides expertise in professional billing regulations, and implements process improvements to optimize revenue capture. Essential Job Functions: Supervise daily operations of the professional billing team, ensuring timely and accurate claims processing, collections, and account follow-up. Evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Support and perform billing functions including claim errors and rejections, claims follow-up, claim denials recovery and appeals, processing credits, refunds, and recoupments by assisting in timely workqueue resolution by identifying trends, root causes, and develop and implement corrective action plans. Identify, analyze, and resolve complex billing and reimbursement issues, escalating appropriately when necessary. Utilize reports and other tools to monitor and communicate productivity and quality metrics. Analyze billing processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to maximize efficiency and optimize revenue. Collaborate closely with clinical departments, coding specialists, and other revenue cycle stakeholders to address discrepancies and ensure accurate documentation. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of supervisory experience required; bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising and effectively managing a Revenue Cycle team. Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional (physician-based) billing/revenue cycle management, ideally in a healthcare/hospital setting. Strong knowledge of professional billing procedures, coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10), insurance regulations, and reimbursement methodologies. Proficiency in EPIC healthcare billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to coach, counsel, develop, motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and departments. Pay Range: $59,280.00-$96,928.00 Salary: At Lurie Children's, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
