New York Habitat Internship Program
New York Habitat is a globally recognized real estate company that rents apartments and vacation rentals in New York, Paris, London, and the South of France. The company benefits from extensive exposure on major social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. The company's presence on various platforms is growing, so we regularly need our content translated into the main languages spoken by our clients. Search engine optimization (SEO) also plays an important role. New York Habitat is looking for motivated university students who are eager to join and gain significant experience in the field of translation and customer service. Interns will have the opportunity to see their work published on the New York Habitat website, blog, and social media. Tasks to be performed: In the translation department, interns will be responsible for translating texts of various kinds, such as apartment descriptions and customer reviews, from English to Spanish. They will also have the opportunity to correct their own translations and those of others. In the product management department, interns will handle the customer service phone line for New York Habitat, providing our clients and landlords with appropriate customer service. They will learn to process inquiries and refer them to the appropriate agent. Internship objectives: Acquire significant professional experience in the field of translation. Improve translation skills and strategies. Learn to incorporate keywords in a translation to ensure search engine optimization. Expand specialized vocabulary in the real estate sector to use appropriately in translations. Respect the manual and editing guidelines strictly to meet quality standards for publication. Improve proofreading and attention to detail skills. Get familiar with remote work and learn to manage their own time carefully. Benefit from personalized support from their supervisor to optimize translation timelines and techniques. Improve English proficiency by attending the main NYH phone line and making phone calls. Learn to apply their knowledge of foreign languages. Understand, interpret, record, and transfer the information received by attending the NYH phone line. Learn to speak clearly, negotiate, and adapt to different interlocutors. Improve social and courtesy skills, and adapt to our company culture. Learn to use the company's IT resources. Be able to identify and solve a problem. Learn to work independently, manage time, plan, and anticipate schedules. Be able to show initiative, develop research strategies, and be productive. Learn to have adaptability and responsiveness to various scenarios. Be able to control and comply with given instructions. Learn to integrate into the team and collaborate with staff and team members. Be able to handle moderate stress situations and be innovative and creative, especially when speaking to customers. Make information strategically usable and accessible. Apply, reinvest, and/or improve theoretical and technical knowledge. Write high-quality documents (content, structure, spelling). Learn the basics of strategic management oriented towards achieving goals and objectives. Learn to be efficient to achieve company objectives. Understand how to quantify and qualify the work done with careful supervision. Improve the capacity for professional integration and teamwork. Develop the ability to listen, know how to present and share ideas, learn how to collaborate to achieve a common goal within the workgroup. Be able to present daily and weekly reports to management and human resources to evaluate their own progress. Internship details: Internships are open only to students whose academic training includes a period of internship aimed at obtaining academic credits. Signing a prior agreement with the university of origin. Start date: to be agreed upon. Minimum duration: 2 months. Time zone: New York (between 9:00 and 18:00 EST / 15:00 and 24:00 CET). Unpaid internships. Remote internships. The intern will be supervised by the companys supervisor via email, WhatsApp, and calls. Basic requirements: Perfect oral and written comprehension of the English language. Degree in translation or related fields. Knowledge of Microsoft Word. Translation test as part of the application. Selection process: Candidates must: Share their CV with the company. Show an English language certificate (university exams, Cambridge certificates, or equivalents) with a minimum grade of C1 or equivalent. Take a translation test. Participate in an interview.
