Under limited supervision, oversees bio-solids drying facility operations, troubleshoots problems and assists in obtaining parts as needed, maintains dryer production records and air permit records. Reports to the operations supervisor. Examples of Duties

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The list below is not comprehensive; this job is also responsible for other duties as assigned. Oversees belt filter presses, collects samples for laboratory analysis; performs routine laboratory tests and prepares related records and logs. Assists dryer operators and maintenance personnel in resolving technical and operational problems as required. Receives and reviews various records and reports including laboratory reports, maintenance records and operations logs, product specifications, safety sheets, etc. Conducts air permit inspections with DES when on site, keeps and maintains air permit records and data for air permit. Maintains parts inventory for bio-solids facility (dryer and belt filter presses). Reporting to this position are four bio-solids operators. Trains all dryer and belt press operators and ensures continual conformity in operating the dryer and belt presses for optimal sludge and pellet production and as changes arise. Typical Qualifications

Required Educational Background and Job-Related Experience:

Minimum Level of Job-Related Education: Degree in a related field a plus. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by two to three years of manager and/or supervisory experience. Must possess or be able to obtain a class "A" biological wastewater license. Must possess a valid state driver's license.
