High School Emt Instructor
The High School EMT Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality EMT instruction to high school students enrolled in this specialized high school program. This position ensures that students gain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet state and national EMT certification requirements. The instructor follows established curriculum guidelines, maintains compliance with accreditation standards, and supports student success through mentorship and hands-on training. This role requires collaboration with the High School Program Coordinator, the High School faculty, and clinical partners to create a comprehensive learning environment. All Barry EMS (EMT and Paramedic) Instructors ensures that course delivery adheres to Florida BEMS 64J standards and NATIONAL STANDARDS EMT and Paramedic Scope of Practice. EMT Instructors shall maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and certification eligibility in compliance with program policies. Instructors be well versed in the delivery of EMT course content with the end goal of properly preparing students for NREMT licensure examination. The High School EMT Instructor is the primary person who is responsible for preparing students for emergency service entry point. This position requires strong leadership, adaptability, and enthusiasm for EMS education. Instructors works closely with the High School Program Coordinator, and industry professionals to ensure students are fully equipped with the knowledge required to succeed in their EMT careers. Instruction and Classroom Management: Deliver EMT course instruction aligned with state and national standards, utilizing both classroom-based and hands-on training methods. Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment while ensuring students develop competency in essential EMT skills and knowledge. Maintain classroom discipline and encourage student participation. Clinical and Lab Training: Oversee and facilitate practical skill labs and simulations, ensuring students develop proficiency in patient assessment, life-saving interventions, and pre-hospital emergency care. Monitor and evaluate student performance during hands-on exercises. Student Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer quizzes, exams, and practical skill evaluations to assess student progress. Provide constructive feedback and additional instruction as needed to ensure student comprehension and skill mastery. Be accountable for final student test scores and student NREMT certification. Compliance and Accreditation Support: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and certification eligibility in compliance with program policies. Student Mentorship and Support: Serve as a mentor and resource for students, providing guidance on academic success, career pathways, and professional development. Address student concerns and collaborate with the Program Coordinator to support student retention and success. Equipment and Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining lab equipment and training materials, ensuring resources are available and in good condition for instructional use. Report equipment needs to the Program Coordinator for timely replenishment.
