Entry-Level Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to both accounting and administrative functions within a non-profit organization. The role involves supporting the Chief Financial Officer and the Accounting Department by performing a variety of accounting, human resources, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and generate financial statements during month-end closing processes. Handle cash and revenue collection, deposits, and related reconciliations and reporting. Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice receipt, coding, data entry, and payment processing. Process accounts receivable billings, collections, and credit card transactions. Maintain and update fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules for capital assets. Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employee status changes by preparing, processing, and filing necessary documentation. Support workers compensation case filings and ongoing case management. Help with employee benefit-related tasks such as insurance renewals, open enrollment, and qualifying life event changes. File, copy, and maintain data for audits, budgets, payroll, and other administrative reports. Contribute to fundraising efforts and perform additional duties as assigned by management. Requirements: Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) processes and procedures. Experience with bank and account reconciliations. Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) and billing processes. Proficiency in preparing and recording accounting entries. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and organizational abilities. Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
