At LightEdison, quality is foundational to our success. We are seeking a Quality Technician to support field construction activities on utility-scale solar projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and 2+ years of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) experience to join a company focused on driving the renewable energy industry forward. The Quality Technician will assist in inspecting work, verifying compliance with project specifications, and ensuring that construction activities meet LightEdison's standards of excellence. Job Summary
The Quality Technician plays a critical role in daily construction quality assurance activities by supporting site teams in inspections, documentation, and issue resolution. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position will conduct field inspections, maintain quality records, assist with punch lists, and help identify non-conformances during construction activities. Key Responsibilities
Field Inspections & Quality Verification Perform daily inspections of mechanical and electrical installations (racking, modules, wiring, trenching, etc.). Verify work against project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (NEC, ASTM, etc.). Document inspection results and maintain detailed, organized quality records. Ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly when quality deviations are identified. Issue Identification & Resolution Assist in identifying and documenting non-conformances and punch list items. Work closely with field supervisors, subcontractors, and the Quality Manager to resolve quality issues. Help track the status of rework and corrective actions to closure. Testing & Reporting Support commissioning and testing activities as needed, including continuity tests, torque verification, and visual inspections. Prepare daily quality reports summarizing inspection activities and findings. Maintain inspection and test plan (ITP) compliance throughout all phases of construction. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Communicate regularly with project teams to promote a proactive quality culture. Participate in QA/QC meetings and toolbox talks. Suggest improvements to inspection processes and quality control procedures based on field observations. Required Qualifications
2+ years of QA/QC experience in construction, solar energy, electrical work, or related industries. Basic knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and standard industry practices. Familiarity with NEC codes and general electrical/mechanical installation standards. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to document inspections thoroughly and communicate effectively with site teams. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and comfortable using mobile inspection apps. Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or technical certification in Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience in solar construction or electrical field work. Familiarity with QA software platforms like Procore or TrimbleProjectSight. Certifications such as NABCEP Associate, OSHA 30, or equivalent.
