Civil Rights Specialist III
The State of Hawai'i is seeking candidates for the Civil Rights Specialist III position. The immediate vacancies are with the following departments: Department of Transportation Administration Office located in Halawa to Kalihi. Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation located in Downtown. Salary: $4,961 to $6,043 per month (SR-20, Step D to I). Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors. A continuous recruitment may be closed at any time. The Civil Rights Specialist III level reflects an independent worker whose work assignments encompass problems of average difficulty and complexity requiring the application of technical knowledge, skill, and sound judgment in applying the fundamental principles, techniques, standards, and guides established for one or more civil rights programs; and performs other related duties as assigned. To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Knowledge of the III level: Interviewing, fact-finding, research and analytical and problem solving methods and techniques; and report writing. Basic Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. General Experience: One and one-half (1-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional or other responsible analytical work experience which involved gathering, evaluating and analyzing facts and other pertinent information required to resolve problems; and identifying, evaluating and analyzing issues involved and understanding and applying various statutory provisions, rules or regulations to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action. Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
