Mental Health Technician/Driver (Part-Time)

Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented Mental Health Technician/Driver. Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is a 120-bed capacity behavioral health facility that provides psychiatric services. We specialize in treatment for adults, children, and adolescents. Brentwood Behavioral offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Located in Flowood, MS, in Rankin County with close proximity to Hinds and Madison Counties, our outpatient services are within driving distance to many surrounding areas. We help individuals and families achieve optimal mental health, resulting in improved quality of life. Our dedicated team of professionals provides individualized treatment, meeting the personal needs of our customers in a safe and nurturing environment. The Mental Health Technician provides patient transportation to and from the facility providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to the patients while always maintaining safety. Works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various process and specialty groups within the patient program. Plays an integral part of assuring that the patient program schedule is carried out as planned by the staff team. Performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital. Interacts closely with patients remaining engaged in the various activities and events that patients experience throughout the treatment day. Interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner at all times and assists other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries. Qualifications: Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Maintain a valid class specific driver's license applicable to transporting patients. Driving record must meet or exceed the facility standards. BLS and De-escalation Certification required. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health related field and two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting).
