Hamilton County Public Works Division is hiring for a full-time position. The salary range is $82,011.00 - $102,514.00 annually. The position is located in Chattanooga, TN. Under limited supervision, the role oversees traffic engineering projects including design, construction documentation, surveying, bid and construction administration, and performs the managerial, supervisory, and administrative functions of the engineering design. Essential functions include the following tasks, physical requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of direct work experience related to traffic design engineering, two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory role. Must possess a Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Tennessee. A valid driver's license is required. Additional requirements include completion of the Hamilton County Defensive Driving course issued by the National Safety Council and/or an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) provided by the department. Preferred qualifications include a minimum of ten (10) years of direct work experience related to traffic design engineering. Physical requirements include minimal physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and driving. Occasional visits to project work sites are required.
