Electrical Technician
We are seeking a skilled electricians with extensive experience in marine applications. This role requires a highly capable individual to execute electrical installation and testing aboard Navy vessels or within a shop environment. Responsibilities
Read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings, wiring tables, and schematics. Work independently following proper instructions. Utilize basic electrical meters and test instruments such as volt-ohm meter, clamp-on ammeter, and insulation resistance testers. Perform general deck electrician tasks, including laying off and mounting electrical equipment and wireways. Install cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks. Conduct cable installation, terminations, and hook-ups. Use electrician hand tools like pliers, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and connector crimping tools efficiently. Climb vertical and inclined stairs and ladders, crawl, bend, stoop, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces. Essential Skills
Three or more years of experience in the electrical field, specifically in marine applications. Ability to read and interpret shipboard electrical installation drawings and schematics. Proficiency in using basic electrical meters and test instruments. Competence in general deck electrician tasks and cable installations. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Marine electrician experience. Familiarity with electrical testing and terminations. Work Environment
Work takes place in the largest shipbuilding yard, which stretches over 5 miles in Southeast Virginia. Conditions are hot and muggy during the summer and cool during the winter. Work will be performed on a Navy vessel or in a shop environment. Flexibility is required to work any shift, including 1st shift from 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3:30-11pm, and 3rd shift from 11pm-7am. Why Work Here

The pay range for this position is $21.36 - $27.31/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
