Under the direction of the Engagement Supervisor, the Engagement Assistant will assist in planning, preparing and leading group activities designed to stimulate older adults with dementia. Key duties and responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to: Providing behavioral/emotional support and supervision for clients Monitoring the safety and welfare of clients by close observation and interaction and by adherence to program policies and schedules Regularly reporting on status of participants to Client Service Manager Performing other duties as assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalence Current/prior experience working with older adults or in related social services Interest in/ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Interest in working with frail or memory impaired seniors Interest and willingness to work in a multilingual, multicultural environment Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to facilitate engaging curriculum Computer proficiency in MS word, Excel, and Outlook PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver and reposition up to 50 lbs.
