FPGA Engineer - ONSITE IN SEATTLE, WA
We are looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated FPGA Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This role demands a deep understanding of digital design principles and extensive hands-on experience developing with Xilinx FPGAs, especially using Verilog. You will contribute to cutting-edge multimedia systems and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance video and audio solutions, particularly for embedded applications in aerospace environments. Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and validate FPGA-based solutions primarily using Verilog on Xilinx platforms, such as Zynq or UltraScale architectures. Execute complex video processing workflows, including real-time 4K video upscaling and downscaling, frame rate conversions, and high dynamic range (HDR) enhancement. Integrate advanced video and audio subsystems into broader hardware environments, ensuring efficient signal processing and reliable communication between system components. Develop and maintain robust I/O frameworks for video ingestion and playback, with a focus on applications such as USB-powered seat armrest systems and seamless 4K video delivery within aircraft interiors. Interpret electrical schematics and collaborate with hardware teams to optimize physical designs for performance, power, and reliability. Participate in the full development lifecyclefrom initial architecture and RTL design to simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, and lab bring-upwhile contributing to ongoing improvements and the evolution of next-generation systems. Provide technical mentorship, contribute to design reviews, and support the development of internal best practices. Required Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in FPGA design, simulation, and verification. Proven proficiency in Verilog and familiarity with VHDL for legacy support and mixed-language designs. Expertise with Xilinx development tools (e.g., Vivado, ISE, Vitis) and FPGA architectures. Strong understanding in digital signal processing (DSP), high-speed video/audio interfaces (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort), and data protocols. Familiarity with system-level integration involving embedded processors, memory controllers, and external peripherals. Excellent analytical skills and a collaborative mindset in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments. The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr.
