We are seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Designer specializing in Wovens and Bottoms to support our womenswear team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in designing woven apparel across both licensed and branded categories, with a deep understanding of the off-price retail market. This role requires creative vision, technical skill, and the ability to develop trend-driven, commercially viable styles that meet the unique needs of our retail partners. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct market and trend research focused on woven fabrics, silhouettes, and bottoms categories. Develop seasonal collections that align with brand direction and off-price retail strategies. Create accurate technical sketches, CADs, and detailed tech packs for production. Licensing Collaboration:
Partner with licensing teams to ensure all designs meet brand standards while offering fresh and relevant styles. Collaborate with internal and external teams to support cohesive product development and alignment with brand goals. Product Development And Execution:
Manage the design process from concept through to final approvals, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. Partner with technical design and production teams to address fit and construction challenges, especially for bottoms. Retailer Engagement:
Present design concepts tailored to the needs and expectations of off-price retailers. Adjust designs in response to buyer feedback while maintaining brand consistency and product integrity. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with merchandising, sales, and marketing teams to build collections that align with business objectives. Analyze past performance and feedback to inform future woven and bottoms designs. Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in womenswear design, with a strong focus on woven apparel and bottoms. Proven track record of success in the off-price, licensing, or branded apparel markets. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant design software. Strong knowledge of woven fabrications, construction, and technical design. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills. Compensation/Benefits: The approximate hourly rate range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00. The offered rate will vary based on the scope of the role, skill set, and years of experience.
