Along with our interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors, we specialize in hospitality, gaming + entertainment, urban + mixed-use, and high-end residential design. WATG is hiring a Studio Director for Wimberly Interiors in New York. The Studio Director will manage all aspects of the studio, providing strategic, operational and design leadership, with ultimate responsibility for its overall performance. In collaboration with the Managing Director and Global Practice Principal for Wimberly Interiors, the Studio Director establishes and implements annual business plans and performance goals and builds on the market growth strategy, brand, culture, and standards for quality and design excellence. As Studio Director, the right candidate will be responsible for 10+ employees and a minimum starting Revenue Target of $1M. Responsibilities: Contributes and works directly with the Managing Director and Global Practice Principal for Wimberly Interiors to set the overall targets and objectives for the studio within the service Executes studio assignments related to revenue generation, profit outcomes, resourcing and talent disposition, operational effectiveness, marketplace influence, and client management and relationships Oversees and ensures that the project delivery and performance, and design quality and standards in the studio meet brand consistency and process established by Wimberly Interiors leadership Is responsible for overall team development, management and utilization Develops talent effectiveness and growth and liaises with other studios and offices on project resourcing, sharing and exchange Manages the day-to-day operation of the studio in collaboration with design and technical leaders, including the development and execution of project work plans Supports the Managing Director in the areas of growth, revenue, profitability, project management, design, staff management and client relationships for the region Participates in marketing and business development activities and provides insight into industry intelligence and trends Collaborates on opportunity pursuits with other service lines Spends at least 20% of the time developing new and repeat business relationships and project leads, negotiating contracts, creating business plans, and collaborating with other senior leaders to support existing and prospective clients Promotes WATG's vision and its overall culture and ensures it is assimilated within the region while in line with the leadership attributes and WATG's values and purpose Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture 15+ years of experience and advanced knowledge of the service with a proven record in their area of focus Professional license required as appropriate Environmental accreditation preferred, such as LEED or WELL Successful track record of managing multiple small projects or fewer projects of larger size Experience in establishing and executing business plans and market strategies Strong business and client leadership acumen Excellent communication and presentation skills Positive and proven talent management skills Strong leadership skills Resilient when under pressure * Please include a copy of your resume and portfolio to be considered for this position.
