General Superintendent

Our Program Management group is seeking a General Superintendent to join our capital projects team for a large client in Coney Island, NY, who thrives when people are in sync and construction projects are running like they should. You'll take the lead on daily scheduling and planning activities for all primes and their subcontractors at the project site, and ensure the right materials, equipment, and people are there to get the job done. Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager this is a site-based position that interacts directly with the project team, general contractor, and client. In this role you'll monitor, coordinate with client stakeholders, and inspect daily construction activities as it relates to both general construction and MEP systems. You'll provide direction to the team regarding quality, safety, and general day to day operations, and challenge yourself by reviewing and resolving technical problems, ensuring compliance on inspections, and helping field staff to ensure all quality inspections are complete. Utilizing your expertise, you'll perform all aspects of inspections to include all reporting, providing communication to the project team and ensuring the requirements of the project are successfully met. Most importantly, you'll take action to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of your team, all field workers, and our planet. As a passionate leader, you'll leverage your people management skills to help your team members discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward. Here's what you'll need: High School diploma/GED 7-10 years' experience as a General / MEP Superintendent for a General Contractor as the lead person supervising new construction and/or addition/renovation projects Demonstrated working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building Proficient at understanding technical construction drawings and contractor shop drawings OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Willing and able to work onsite with the project team the client's location Monday
Friday Ideally, you'll also have: Bachelor degree in Construction Management Certified Construction Manager (CCM) OSHA 30 certification Sponsorship is not available for this position.
