HR ASSISTANT (MIL) POSITION

As a HR ASSISTANT (MIL), GS-0201-09, you will perform the following duties: Serves as an advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) program. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, staff members and individual military members. Provides training to supervisors and guidance and assistance to military members on program for which assigned. Participates in Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) and unit mobilizations and de-mobilizations. Responsible for and oversees the direction of the EPM/OPM or Incentives program and functions as the technical expert. Determines the methods and procedures for conducting military career guidance and counseling to ensure officer or enlisted personnel have an optimal and established career pattern. Responsible for and oversees the direction of SIDPERS and internal/external interfaces, and functions as the technical expert. Responsible for and ensures the timely and accurate processing of submitted military personnel actions. Responsible for and oversees the direction of the Personnel Services Section and functions as the technical expert. Oversees the performance of document handling, records maintenance, and the Integrated Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS). Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: NOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience. Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E3/PFC - E7/SFC) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which provided you with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing as well as experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months specialized experience, education, or training, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experiences which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Experience which provided knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments.
