Supports Intensity Scale Assessment Specialist- Thomasville

An SIS Assessor, under general supervision, performs Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Assessments for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as assigned. The SIS Assessor is responsible for scheduling and completing administration of the SIS, to include scoring the assessment and preparing a summary report. An SIS Assessor ensures that all assessments are completed in a respectful, professional, reliable, and timely manner according to the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) standards and with current approved AAIDD credentials. Assessments are facilitated according to prescribed formats with two or more respondents (may include self-advocates) that are familiar with the individual receiving services. The SIS Assessor helps communicate the results to the individual and his/her family/caregivers/team to help them understand the individual's support needs and to inform the person-centered planning process. The SIS Assessor participates in periodic evaluations, maintaining a status of "qualified" in Inter-Rater Reliability Quality Review (IRQRs) conducted by an AAIDD recognized SIS Trainer. An SIS Assessor helps gather SIS data into reports and communicates this data to agency, state, and regional partners. In addition, the SIS Assessor may conduct other assessments/evaluations as requested. Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field Have a minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities Possess SIS Assessor credentials approved through AAIDD approved training or be eligible to obtain such credentials within three (3) months of employment Lived experiences with intellectual/developmental (I/DD) disabilities valued Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in a related field Provider network development/management experience Professional level Quality Management/Utilization Management experience Training and consultation experience Knowledge of Behavioral Health service design models Experience in service systems being transitioned from facility-based to community-based Proficiency with Microsoft Suite - primarily Word and Excel Employment Requirements: To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees, individuals and communities we serve, certain positions within DBHDD may require evaluations, vaccinations, professional licensure and certifications.
