Administrative Support for INSCOM Staff
Provides administrative support to meet the needs of INSCOM staff. The position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA). Essential duties and responsibilities include: Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties and resolves recurring problems in support of the commander, FRG leaders and volunteers, as it pertains to Family Readiness. Maintains awareness of Family Readiness activities within the unit and updates the commander on the program status, controversial issues and services available to Soldiers and Family members. Works closely with Army Community Service (ACS), Army Family Programs and Unit Service Coordinator to maintain knowledge of latest changes in Family Readiness programs and up to date referral information on Army Family policy and community resources; answers questions from the unit commander, staff, and FRG leaders; and provides updates on the status of the unit's Family Readiness. Performs general office clerical work as it pertains to the commander's Family Readiness Program in accordance with applicable regulations. At the request of the commander or FRG leader, works with Family program agencies to schedule and coordinate briefings, orientations and workshops on Soldier and Family readiness issues. Works with ACS and other Family program agencies, major subordinate commands and units to recruit and maintain an active volunteer force. Experience, education, and licensure requirements include: Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI Clearance. Knowledge of Army Family Readiness programs, varied functions of several types of office automation software packages, practices, and procedures, and ability to apply these knowledges and skills in processing and producing a wide range of documents and other materials in support of the office mission. Knowledge of extensive body of clerical and administrative procedures and operations and resolves recurring problems. Knowledge of the organization and functions of the Command. Skill and proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office software to produce work accurately and efficiently. Skill in operating a copier, fax machine and other office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Procedures for doing the work are established and a number of specific guidelines are available. Work environment is typically performed in a controlled office environment. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; talking or hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel is none. Work authorization/security clearance includes DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Additional qualifying factors include the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States.
