Senior Network Engineer

This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret). Because an active or interim DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required. Experiencing using HSRP for network failover Palo Alto firewall experience (nice to have) Job Description: As the Senior Network Engineer, the individual will monitor and control the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools. In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will support an on-premises network including Cisco hardware and related software covering multiple tenant agencies. The successful candidate will troubleshoot network issues, address outages, plan and execute network changes and support ATOs. Responsibilities: Plans, configures, and installs networking hardware / software replacements and upgrades Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans) Works closely with tenant agency engineers in support of networking related projects Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance. Provides day-to-day subject matter expertise to tenant agencies Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non-core hours Works with vendors in support of the network Ensures all networking applicable STIGs, POA&Ms and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner Performs routine and preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office Required Qualifications/Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent 7 years of Network Engineering experience Must have and maintain an adjudicated Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-II / IAM-II level Position requires a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or the successful completion of either the DCCOR, ENCOR, SPCOR exams Prior experience with data center technologies within a large government environment Extensive experience with inter-VLAN routing, OSPF, BGP, and HSRP is required Experience with Cisco ASR routers, Catalysts switches, Nexus devices and Cisco Firewalls is required Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Office products Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls Important Soft Skills: Self-starter who can hit the ground running This is a small team, and they do not have the bandwidth or resources to train people up on tools or processes Employee Value Proposition (EVP): Ability to be processed up to a TS/SCI Long term opportunity - This contract is good through Dec 2026 Work Environment: M-F 100% Onsite Core Hours Quantico, VA - Russell Knox Building - there is no flexibility for hybrid or remote. HOWEVER, they are can accommodate their time to arrive/ time to leave if someone needs assistance with their schedule. No OT/Weekend work. Team environment.
