Job Summary
Monitors, plans, implements, and evaluates quality assurance programs, patient satisfaction, the stroke program. Educates ED physicians and staff regarding performance improvement opportunities identified. Collects data required to maintain Primary Stroke Center. Provides direct communication of results/issues related to the stroke program with the Director of Emergency Services. Performs direct patient care, as needed, within the Registered Nurse scope of practice. Education, Experience, Training
1. Current and valid Registered Nurse License State of Texas 2. BSN upon hire. 3. CEN preferred, SCRN preferred 4. 5 years of experience in Emergency Department Nursing. 5. Current certification in CPR, ACLS, PALS 6. TNCC required. 7. Through knowledge of NIHSS and Stroke Patient Nursing principles & the ability to apply them to ensure quality nursing care to the stroke patient. 8. Excellent verbal and written skills. 9. Behavioral violence prevention certification as required. 10. Complete a TOPIC course.
